Reflections:
On the essence of WE
A book is always a collaborative effort. Co-creating with the editor and art director, I went through thousands of my photos and saw them with new eyes. It is an essential alchemy to do it together and dance with the material. Back and forth, without making concessions but fine-tuning every step and every page.
Building upon the strength of all involved we wanted to catch the essence of the WE program and let the work on human rights in factories get under your skin. The book is not an end of a project, it is a reflection of where we are and an invitation.
’For many years our photographer Neeltje has travelled to Bangladesh, India, China, Vietnam, Cambodia, and Turkey to capture the essence of the WE Program. Through her lens we get up close with courageous people working on improving human rights in factories.’
